Every system
we install
runs on this.
Consumer units, rewires, EICRs, EV chargers and three phase work across the East Midlands, Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Surveyed properly, certified properly, quoted in writing before anyone lifts a floorboard.
Four trades, one thing in common
Air conditioning, heat pumps, boilers and solar all end at the same place: a circuit, a board and a certificate. Until now that work sat quietly inside somebody else's install. PulseNord gives it a front door of its own, so the electrical side can be sold, surveyed and certified as the trade it actually is.
Domestic electrical
Most homes we walk into have a board that has been added to three or four times by three or four different people. We start by testing what is actually there, then tell you plainly which parts are fine, which parts need attention now and which parts can wait. Nothing gets condemned to sell you a job.
Notifiable work is certified and notified under Part P by Garratt Electrical Ltd, the NAPIT registered contractor we work in partnership with, and you get the certificate in your hand rather than a promise that it is in the post.
- Full and partial rewires
- Consumer unit upgrades
- EICRs and landlord certificates
- Fault finding and intermittent tripping
- Extra sockets and spurs
- Lighting, dimming and outdoor lighting
- Cooker and shower circuits
- Garden offices and garage supplies
- Smoke and heat alarm systems
- Earthing and bonding upgrades
EV charging
A charger is the biggest single load most houses will ever add. Fitting one properly means checking the incoming supply and earthing arrangement first, not after. We survey the main fuse, the board and the run, then quote a charger that suits the car and the parking, rather than whichever unit is in the van.
Every installation gets load monitoring so the charger backs off instead of tripping the supply, and the unit is registered with the manufacturer so your warranty stands.
- Home chargers, 7kW single phase
- 22kW three phase where the supply allows
- Workplace and small fleet bays
- Load monitoring and supply upgrades
- PEN fault protection
- Tethered or socketed units
- Long cable runs and detached garages
- Back office and billing for workplace bays
ZenithNord fits chargers too, and they hold the Tesla Powerwall certification, so a charger going in alongside solar or a battery is usually better placed with them. Same group, same engineers either way. Ask whoever you are already speaking to and it will land in the right diary.
Commercial and industrial
Shops, offices, workshops, care homes and light industrial units. The work that keeps a building insurable and open: fixed wire testing on a proper schedule, boards that are labelled, containment that somebody can follow in five years' time, and emergency lighting that has been tested rather than assumed.
We work around opening hours. Out of hours and phased shutdowns are quoted up front, so the price does not move because the work happened on a Sunday.
- Fixed wire testing and periodic inspection
- Three phase distribution and sub boards
- Containment, tray and trunking
- Emergency lighting design and testing
- LED lighting upgrades
- Machine and plant connections
- Data and comms containment
- Shop and office fit outs
- Landlord and insurer remedial works
- Out of hours and phased shutdowns
Enabling works
An air conditioning unit needs a dedicated way, a correctly rated cable and an isolator within reach. A heat pump needs all of that plus an immersion supply and controls. A battery needs a supply that has been assessed against the existing load. Done badly, it is the part that trips at eleven at night.
PulseNord does that work as a trade in its own right, whether the install it is feeding is one of ours or somebody else's. Other installers are welcome to use us for exactly the same thing.
- Dedicated circuits and isolators
- Board upgrades ahead of an install
- Supply capacity assessments
- Immersion and controls wiring
- Earthing and bonding for outdoor plant
- Battery and inverter supplies
- Pre install surveys for other trades
- Certification for the installing engineer
Four steps, no surprises
The same sequence on a single socket and on a full three phase distribution board. The only thing that changes is how long each step takes.
Survey
We look at what is there, test the existing installation and measure the supply. On anything beyond a small job that means a proper visit, not a guess over the phone.
Fixed written quote
You get the scope, the materials and the price in writing before anything is booked. If we find something genuinely hidden we stop and talk to you rather than adding it to the bill.
The work
Dates agreed in advance, dust sheets down, floors and carpets lifted carefully and put back. You know each morning what is happening that day.
Test and certify
Every circuit tested, results recorded, board labelled, certificate issued and Part P notified where it applies. The paperwork leaves with you.
What you actually get
Electrical certificates are not optional extras and they are not a favour. Here is which one applies to which job, and what it is for.
- EICElectrical Installation Certificate
- Issued for a new installation, a rewire or a new circuit. It records the design, the construction, the inspection and every test result, signed by the person who did each part. This is the document a solicitor asks for when you sell.
- MEIWCMinor Works Certificate
- For an alteration or addition to an existing circuit, such as a new socket on a ring or a light moved to the other side of a room. Smaller than an EIC, but it still records the tests we carried out on the circuit we touched.
- EICRCondition Report
- An inspection of an installation that already exists, graded C1, C2, C3 or FI. Landlords need one every five years or at change of tenancy. We explain each code in plain words and quote the remedials separately, so you can see what is a safety issue and what is an improvement.
- Part PBuilding Regulations
- Notifiable work in a dwelling is registered with your local authority under the NAPIT competent person scheme registration held by Garratt Electrical Ltd, who we work in partnership with, and a compliance certificate follows to your address. You do not pay building control separately and you do not chase it.

Straight answers
Do I need a new consumer unit?
Not always. An older board with a working RCD and sound circuits can be perfectly safe. We test first and tell you what the result actually means. If the board has no RCD protection at all, or it is a rewireable fuse board feeding modern loads, we will explain why a change is worth doing rather than simply saying it is required.
How long does a rewire take?
A typical three bedroom house is around five to eight working days, depending on access, floor coverings and how much making good you want us to do. We give you the number of days in the quote, and if it runs over because of something we should have spotted, that is on us.
Will my supply take an EV charger?
Most houses will take a 7kW charger once load monitoring is fitted, which is why we fit it as standard. What matters is the rating of your main fuse and the earthing arrangement, both of which we check on the survey. If your supply genuinely needs upgrading we tell you before you commit, not halfway through.
My EICR came back with C2 codes. Is that dangerous?
A C2 means potentially dangerous, which is not the same as dangerous right now. It needs attention but it is rarely a reason to panic. We will walk you through each code, tell you what it would cost to clear, and put them in order of priority so you can deal with the important ones first.
Do you take on small jobs?
Yes. A single socket, a faulty light, a tripping circuit. Small jobs are how most people find out whether they want to use somebody again, so they get the same certificate and the same care as a full rewire.
Can other installers use you?
Yes. We do enabling works and certification for other heating, air conditioning and solar installers who would rather not carry an electrician. Your customer stays your customer, and we turn up in our own name only if you want us to.
Tell us what you need
We will call you back, book a survey if the job needs one, and put a fixed price in writing. No call centre, no pressure, no price that changes on the day.
- A named electrician, not a stranger each visit
- Fixed written quote agreed before work begins
- Certificates issued and Part P notified
- Work guaranteed and fully insured
